Sylvinite
Sylvinite is a natural ore containing about 30% Na2O (20% sodium) and 20% potash. It is often applied to land used to grow sugar beet where animal manures have supplied phosphate. Sylvinite can act as an alternative to Magnesia-Kainit® fertiliser where soluble magnesium and sulphur are not required. It is also applied to grasslands.
